September 14, 2020

Kansas attorneys Kurt P. Kerns of Wichita, and Van Z. Hampton of Dodge City are partners in the law firm known as Warrior Lawyers International. The firm is affiliated with attorney Dragan Ivetic of The Hague, Netherlands. Warrior Lawyers International specializes in defending persons accused of crimes, and representing persons whose civil rights have been violated. The attorneys are all admitted to the List of Counsel in the International Criminal Court (ICC) located in The Hague, and are members of the ICC Bar Association. The ICC was established by the United Nations in 2002 to investigate and to provide trials for persons charged with genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity and crimes of aggression.

The ICCBA, with its office in The Hague, is an administrative organization whose members are admitted to the ICC List of Counsel, or are Associated with the ICC. During the Annual Conference of the ICCBA held September 11 and 12, 2020, the attorneys of Warrior Lawyers International were all elected to leadership positions in the ICCBA. Kurt P. Kerns was elected to serve on the Membership Committee. Van Z. Hampton was elected to serve on the Professional Standards Advisory Committee and was selected by the members to be the Chairperson. Dragan Ivetic was elected to the Executive Council (which governs the operation of the ICCBA) and he was also elected to serve on the Professional Standards Advisory Committee.

In addition to the ICCBA, the attorneys of Warrior Lawyers International also hold leadership positions in the Association of Defense Counsel practicing before the International Courts and Tribunals (ADC-ICT), headquartered in the The Hague. Kurt P. Kerns and Dragan Ivetic are scheduled to begin a three-month trial this fall in the United Nations court known as the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (IRMCT). That trial will be conducted in the IRMCT court located in Arusha, Tanzania.

The attorneys of Warrior Lawyers International are committed to provide a skillful and zealous defense for any person accused of a crime in any court, and to vigorously represent those who are seeking justice after suffering a violation of their civil rights. Van Hampton summarized the firm’s philosophy of operations. “When people come to us for help, we become their warrior advocates, standing between them and the power of the state, and we will represent them zealously, skillfully and tirelessly to preserve their rights, and their dignity and to obtain justice.”
